IMPORTED CABINETS
Price - Quality - Service
Why Choose the Chinese All Wood RTA Kitchen and Bath Cabinets over U.S. Manufactured Cabinets? Because it’s a better buy. Plain and simple, higher quality at a better price equals value.
First and foremost, I'm a loyal American, Born and raised in the good ole U.S. of A. I have no desire to harm or take a job from any U.S. Citizen nor do I believe our involvement in foreign trade has an overall negative effect on our economy.
Bottom line is that we now live (and thrive) in a Global Economy. China is, now more than ever, reliant on access to the U.S. Markets. Does this somehow make the U.S. weaker? Of course not. If we have a problem, they have a problem. Not only does our trade policy give us diplomatic leverage, we have gained a powerful ally.
I used to sell Cabinets for several domestic manufacturers. Not low-end or poorly built products however; most marketing efforts were designed to attract the volume buyers. Big Builders and Developers were able to dictate pricing and to some extent, quality. "Builder grade" and "entry level" were the terms used to describe most of the manufacturing focus....in other words "how cheap can we make it". Vinyl wrapped particle board and melamine was (and still is) the standard. Upgrades like plywood boxes and real wood drawers were considered to be "easy money" for the manufacturers, distributors, dealers, builders, designers, installers, etc. A step up to a plywood box typically means an additional 15% to 30% on top of the already inflated prices. In reality, the raw cost difference between using plywood and particle board is only a tiny percentage of the overall material cost. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not at all saying that the consumer is being ripped-off. It’s simply a matter of Corporate America maximizing profits for their (Foreign and Domestic) shareholders.
A few years ago….as our new construction market was booming, in walks a foreign manufacturer and offers the U.S. Consumer an upgraded cabinet at a reasonable price. What happened? In a relatively short time, our ports are jammed, distributors are distributing, dealers dealing, truckers trucking, installers installing. Its no surprise that many of the high volume (brand name) U.S. Cabinet Manufacturers are now importing some or most of their fabricated components (like doors and drawer) and simply assembling the parts here in the U.S. ….. they still claim "Made in the U.S.A. "
Months ago, I asked a simple question on several designer/cabinet blogs “what’s your opinion of the Chinese Imported Cabinets”? The answers were as expected. Almost every single negative comment came from a Dealer, Shop or Rep involved with selling an "American Made Cabinet". The majority of the positive comments came from consumers. Hmmm
Cheaper goods by using foreign resources....that’s the " American Way ".
Open Market System....competition decides the price....again, the " American Way "
Truth of the matter is that the Chinese can and do deliver the quality and value that the American Consumer is looking for.
I'm simply an another American Business Person that has found a way to cut out a middle man to deliver a quality product at a reasonable price....also the " American Way "
Forgive my shameful plug but as you might have guessed, I sell the all wood kitchen and bath cabinets. Please consider a visit to our Ebay Store: RTA Kitchen Cabinets. We offer Birch, Cherry, Maple and Oak RTA Cabinets. Our Cabinets all feature solid wood face and door frames with a plywood boxes (not particle board). We offer kitchen design assistance so you can be confident that your parts list is exactly what you need for a smooth running project. RTA means “ready to assemble” so our cabinets are delivered to you unassembled. This helps reduce the freight charges and allows you the added savings by cutting out another middleman. Buying assembled cabinets means you paid someone else to assemble and then paid extra to ship the air space within each cabinet!
I would love to hear your comments...good or bad....
